21st Century Studios ‘Gorilla marketing’ Campaign

As if LA’s Venice Beach scene isn’t wild enough, locals go bananas as apes on horseback have been spotted patrolling the popular tourist attraction.
For most movie fanatics, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” does not hit their screens for another few weeks. However, for San Franciscans and Californians, the apes made an early appearance when they invaded their beaches last week.
Locals were shocked to see their beach populated by these apes, who were actually paid actors, roaming the beach on horseback.
The stunt comes weeks before the release of 21st Century Studios’ latest instalment to their Planet of the Apes franchise, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”. The movie studio are clearly not cutting corners with their marketing roll out for the movie.
The studio’s president, Steve Asbell, reshared a video of the stunt writing, “We out here opening up an entirely new front on the CGI vs Practical effects debate!”
