Watch: E.T. and Elliott reunite in Sky’s new Christmas ad

Thirty seven years after the release of film phenomenon E.T., the titular alien has finally been reunited with Elliott for Sky’s 2019 Christmas advert.

The new spot see’s ET travelling across the stars to catch up once more with his friend Elliott, played by the same (now grown-up) actor Henry Thomas, who now has children of his own.

The ad was overseen by original director Steven Spielberg, from concept to final approval, to ensure that it was in line with his 1982 masterpiece.

Stephen van Rooyen, chief executive of UK & Ireland, Sky added: “It’s an honour to bring E.T. back to Earth in this new festive short story, helping us to celebrate the magic of family time at Christmas and Sky’s part in bringing our customers together at this special time of year.”
