Our top five Valentine’s campaigns
By Rupert Cole on Wednesday, February 14, 2024
Valentine’s Day is a time of joy, not least for the brands who get to come up with some love-inspired creative campaigns. Here are five of our favourites:
1.) Kotex’s campaign normalising period sex
The feminine hygiene brand launched heart-shaped boxes packed with pads and shatavari truffles, which serve as an aphrodisiac, with the message ‘Let’s Have Period Sex’ to destigmatise conversations around period sex this Valentine’s. Read about it here.
2.) LEGO’s ‘Le Florist’ campaign
Newlyweds Jaime Laing and Sophie Habboo helped LEGO celebrate the launch of the LEGO Icons Bouquet of Roses at the Battersea Power Station LEGO store. Visitors could see a wall of flowers created using LEGO Botanical sets as well as ‘Le Florist’, a bespoke pop-up flower shop made entirely of both real and LEGO flowers.
3.) Lounge’s bouquet pop-up
Sticking with the bouquet theme, clothing brand Lounge put a new spin on the classic bouquet by offering visitors the opportunity to buy a bouquet made entirely of Lounge underwear.
4.) Asda’s formula for the perfect proposal
There will be many who are hoping that their loved one will pop the big question tonight. And for those who are anxiously gripping a ring box in their hand as they prepare to meet their partner, Asda have enlisted Oxford University mathematician Dr Tom Crawford to help come up with the perfect proposal plan. According to Dr Crawford, meal timing (M), proposal timing (T), planning duration (P) and the cost of the engagement ring (C) are the keys to marital bliss. Read about it here.
5.) Neuter your ex?
Of course for some, Valentine’s Day is less about love, and more about thinking about your ex-partner. For those people, some pet shelters are hoping to help heal hearts by allowing the public to rename a cat that will then be neutered. Whatever floats your boat.
