Have a holly jolly Fixmas! AKQA is giving the gift of repair this December

Every year, families and friends feel an immense pressure to stretch their budgets to impossible limits to make sure their nearest and dearest know how much they mean to them. With the cost of living crisis looming over the nation, it hasn’t got any easier this year. AKQA hopes to ease the burden with Fixmas.
The Fixmas site itself is run by AKQA’s own festive AI repair bot, Fixie. Through the help of interviews, tips, guides, industry best practices and news – Fixie can help you with anything fix related. If all else fails – and it really is goodbye – Fixie can suggest a more environmental alternative to your general waste.
The idea to create Fixie came as AKQA decided they wanted to help break the constant cycle of excessive spending and over consumption that contributes to our disposable culture and society’s excessive environmental waste.
To launch Fixmas, AKQA have created a heartwarming, live action hero film. The film, created in partnership with multi-award winning director, Theo James Krekis, and production company, Knucklehead, revolves around the act of gifting cherished items that may have been broken or damaged throughout the year, back to their owner – restored to their original glory.
